The first Lancaster Garden Club meeting of 2010 will be on Sunday, January 31 at 5 PM in the fellowship building of the Lancaster Unitarian Church on the town green (the Bulfinch Church).
Michael Sczerzen will speak on “The Horticulture of Day Lilies.” Michael owns and operates a landscaping business, and specializes in antique garden ornaments. Mr. Sczerzen is an award winning member of the New England Daylily Society, having won Best in Show at the Tower Hill Day Lily show last summer. He also has a strong interest in unusual conifers, hostas and specialty perennials.
His home gardens have been shown on a variety of garden tours, including the Worcester County Horticultural Society's City Spaces Country Places tour.
