On February 1, 2010 from 6pm-7pm the Lancaster Board of Health will be hosting an orientation session for the Worcester Regional Medical Reserve Corps at the Thayer Memorial Public Library Lower Level 717 Main St. Lancaster.
The Worcester Regional Medical Reserve Corps recruits medical and non medical volunteers to assist communities during times of environmental and health emergencies. MRC volunteers have operated H1N1 clinics, temporary shelters during the Ice Storm, southern US hurricane response, and currently standing by for a possible response to Haiti. All of these services are offered to the community free of charge and training is offered at no cost.
Covering the 74 towns and cities in central Massachusetts, the MRC currently has over 1500 volunteers that have been pre-credentialed and trained. If you would like to participate please contact MRC Administrator Shawn Winsor by email to: coordinator@worcesterregionalmrc.org. Spaces are limited so reservations are required.
