Lancaster has more than 20 miles of trails throughout the Town. The Lancaster Trail and Bike Way Coalition is working to connect these trail systems with natural resources such as open space parcels, conservation areas, recreational areas, wildlife corridors and points of historical and cultural interest. The trails are multi-modal in most cases, and can support walking/hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing and x-country skiing. We are looking to connect these trails so that we have a seamless network of trails and bike paths throughout Lancaster and into surrounding towns.
The LTBC has created a comprehensive eco-tourism planning tool for Lancaster. This tool, called the Lancaster Trails Vision Plan, is a single source of information for trail and bike way visioning, planning and implementation. By creating this plan, we hope to use it to carry out and meet our goals. CLICK on the picture below for a full copy of the plan.
