COVID-19 Test Kits
As previously communicated, the BOH acquired 720 COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits in early February. Initially, to be sure we had enough kits for all who needed them, we established distribution criteria based on the DPH symptoms and required the completion of a form to be issued a test kit.
Due to the drastic decrease in COVID-19 cases (see chart below), the demand for test kits has been extremely low. The BOH has decided to remove the DPH symptoms criteria and the form signature requirements and allow the distribution centers to release up to five test kits free of charge to any resident or town employee. The BOH will hold 270 kits in reserve in case a spike in cases develops.
The kits are available at the following distribution centers:
- Community Center/COA: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 11:00 am
- Thayer Memorial Library: Thu 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Police Department - Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
- Fire Department – Wed 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Sat 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
In addition, free at-home rapid antigen COVID-19 test kits can ordered at https://www.covidtests.gov There is a limit of 8 per household.
