Greetings,

Happy HolidaysI hope you enjoyed this pretty, albeit heavy, snow. If you were driving through the center of Lancaster you may have witnessed a crazy lady shaking off her trees. That was I! It does not look like much, but it is heavy, so take it slow and easy. Be in touch if you know a senior who needs a bucket of sand, or a list of potential helpers. We don't endorse, but we try to help.

Once you are inside with a hot cup of tea, or maybe a hot toddy, I hope you will sit and look at December's "Community Crier". As usual, there were updates coming in at the last minute, so please subscribe to our email list (https://www.ci.lancaster.ma.us/subscribe) for changes and watch Facebook.  Hard copies are available in the Post Offices and library, among other places. Please support our advertisers. They support seniors by making the newsletter possible - we really want them to do well, too.

Speaking of late breaking updates....

  • Recycling was closed today due to the weather- BUT we hope and expect it will be open tomorrow. Should be cold, but if you can find your leaves, bring them down and any recyclables you have sitting around.
  • Open enrollment deadline for Medicare changes is Monday. Need help? Leave a message or email us STAT.
  • Santa is coming next Saturday! See inside.
  • YOU are the Judge for the holiday lighting contest. Details in the "Crier" and an upcoming blast.
  • Join me in wishing our Jewish neighbors a very happy Hanukkah, which begins Thursday!

Finally, please do us all a favor this holiday season. Give the gift of life,  for you and those you love. Mask up, even if it is hot and your glasses fog up. Stay home as much as you can. Small sacrifices can do so much, so don't think if it as 'orders', think of your mask as a gift. Many of us have seen how truly horrible this pandemic is, economically, medically, and even spiritually. For Christmas I am asking for healing, for all of us in many ways. Join me and make a wish.

Enjoy the "Crier," and sign up for some fun classes coming up soon. Zoom, Zoom.
